I had a near-sleepness night last night, bookended first with late-night videogame-music through the wall, then with early-morning music-music though the floor (my brother the earlybird). Hooray... I'm so tired right now. Normally ambient noise doesn't bother me, it just coincided with one of my bouts of insomnia - the first I've had in a couple of months.

It's not the useful insomnia where you're wide awake and can work on stuff. THAT, I wouldn't mind. With my type, you're exhausted and you lie there phasing in and out of reality, conscious of what's around you but without the energy to do anything about it. When you do catch fragments of sleep, it's sleep troubled with bizarre dreams (Dexter was working on the Citycat ferry in my head last night), the kind of sleep you struggle though when you've got a bad flu.

So today me = buggered.

Also, Ollie Johnston, the last of Disney's Nine Old Men, passed away today. 'Course, he WAS 96, so it wasn't unexpected... In the eight years I've been keeping this journal I've written entries abou the passing of Frank Thomas and Chuck Jones too. I guess this will be the last; as far as I'm concerned there aren't any animation legends left to mourn... at least until the current wonderkids - Brad Bird et al - grow old.

Kennards Self-Storage just left a message on my phone: they need me to drop off my storage key because the alarm in my unit has somehow malfunctioned. They're just going to have to put up with it, because my day is already booked out 'til bedtime, there's no way I can get there.

Ugh, so tired. Coffee time. Bandaid solutions FTW.
