I got a haircut and colour for free in Melbourne, thanks to Viv. Thanks Viv! Thiv. Here are some photos of that, +1 older bonus, which is awesome due to Sushi.

2 x MOAR, just to be redundant )

These were taken on the fly, but my dissatisfaction with them reminded me that I have these fantastic 'daylight' photography lights at home that I've only ever used for product photography. I really want to take portrait-style shots of all my friends and flatmates, just for fun... I'm not into photography but I've got spare time and a desire to experiment, and I want to see if I can capture something of each person. So yeah, guys, I'm going to set up the lights someplace on Saturday night when the house cleaning is done, and I'll have the setup for a few days, so anyone who wants me to take some potshots at their noggin' is welcome to rock up... just not before 2pm; morning is beddy-byes time for Tani.

I love Viv and Ruby and Roy and the Rooftop Bar and that other bar and I'm even quite partial to that other other bar! I have about a million photos, none of which I can upload 'til I get home to my trusty card reader. Also, somehow I spent last night surrounded by Queenslanders, despite being in another state. Over half the people I was introduced to were either down from QLD on holiday or moved down here from QLD within the last few years. The Brisbane Effect reaches far and wide.

I spent the night at Roy's and then we spent the morning watching Firefly and unwinding from the awesomeness of last night. Unwinding is very necessary, as we're going to do it all again tonight in an all-new set of bars.

I'm so tired, but it's a GOOD tired.

As for the other thing, I'm much better today. I didn't go out planning to talk about it (actually, I planned the opposite) but they dragged a little out of me, and today everything seems almost normal again. Mum said a clean break is healthier than multiple fractures... so many people have said the same thing in so many different ways that I feel stupid for having tortured myself this long, leaving myself open to be hurt over and over again. I would have had to have been superhuman to let go of my feelings for someone I was still friends with and still seeing all the time. Everyone was right... I've got to start taking care of myself.

I keep seeing presents for Joe and things Joe would like, and until yesterday it hadn't sunk in just how much I was doing that. I see more Joe-centric things than I see me-centric things. It's like I let my personality slide away into some dark recess to make room for his. No more... I've got to either find myself or, if that's impossible, rebuild, and I can't do that while always thinking about Joe and what he would like and what he wants and how to maintain a friendship.

I'm going to watch more Firefly and chill until tonight's festivities. :)

[EDIT] My favourite of the pro photos from Rachel's wedding:

I've jumped out of planes, achieved my life's dream of working for Disney, climbed mountains, watched eclipses, birthed kittens and chickens and lambs, aced tests, loved with everything in me and done everything I've ever really put my mind to. But Rach has experienced something here I never have - to love someone and be loved so completely in return, with a conviction so strong that both people stake their life on it - and I hope to experience that someday myself. In the meantime, it was a privelidge to watch.

A small picspam from Dreamworld:

Hammond and I on the Angry Beavers Spooty Spin ride. I feel this image is LJ icon worthy.

The boys insisted on going to the Big Brother house and sitting on stuff.

The log ride! Someone was snoozing over his cigarette and didn't get a snap of us getting drenched. :D

Peacock! It wouldn't let me pet it. Note I'm still soaked.

The AVIS old-style car ride is an embarrassment, but so are we.

The kangaroo in the background is all, "Hey! That's my BOYFRIEND you BITCH!"

Posing with the koala thing was Adders' idea, I just went along with it so he wouldn't look like a loser. Isn't he cute?

"Tania, that's a donations box, not a ride..."

More photos on Adders' Facebook, including pics of CURLEWS (the Best Birds Ever), here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2025625&id=218700543

Also, have a random photo from the set of Indiana Jones 4. They got back the original actress to play Marion (one of the best female characters ever) and she looks FANTASTIC. Harrison, you fail at ageing, she wins.

This is why everyone woke up this morning almost unable to move up and down the staircase. Oooowwwwwww.

Totally worth it, though. Spend a day jumping! You'll never feel so alive! ;)

These photos were taken by me, Susan and Bingo with Susan's camera.

VIDEO: (Click here, 40 kb) Me falling off a pole. I've got to get someone who knows what they're doing to make this into a Livejournal icon.

VIDEO (Click here, 236 kb): Joe jumping off the same pole. This was meant to be a photo, not a video, so really it's kind of noteable for the fact that I sound like a complete git on the soundtrack when I realise what's going on.

Vix (left) and me (short).

We wound up having an impromptu Harry Potter party today. Myself, Robbie, Vicki, Inc, Jaffa, Whyrl, Stephen, Misty and Bingo all went together to the QBD bookstore in Carindale. Inc had stayed over in the guest bedroom last night, and when we got up at 6:45 to get ready to walk, I went through the following:

Tania: *knocks on Vicki's door, opens it* Gotta get up! We've gotta leave soon!
Vicki: *half-asleep* x_x Oh my god... *thud*
Tania: *knocks on guest room door, opens it* Dude. You comin' to the bookstore?
Inc: *half-asleep* x_x Oh my god... *thud* I'll catch up with you later.

So we set off, sans-Inc, rocked up to Misty's place and discovered that, whilst Whyrl and Stephen were bright-eyed, bushy-tailed and ready to go, the actual INHABITANTS of the house (Misty and, on a part-time basis, Bingo) were still fast asleep. *grin* So THEY dragged themselves out of bed. We walked to Carindale.

Some of the gang - from left: [livejournal.com profile] b_dingo, [livejournal.com profile] stephenquoll, [livejournal.com profile] quillblade and [livejournal.com profile] mistystriker.

Availed ourselves with coffee. I had a Tim-Tam Iced Chocolate, which is truly the greatest invention known to man. There wasn't a huge line and we arrived in good time. My camera died, hence the near-complete lack of photos. We had a great time in the queue, as we were right next to a stand of picture books for kids, and all got a bit of a blast from the past when we came across Mem Fox, Roald Dahl, The Hungry Little Caterpillar, and that weird one about the seagulls who steal that lighthouse keeper's lunch. Also, one of the scariest books on facepainting we've ever seen. TRAUMA.

Countdown ran and the getting of the books went pretty efficiently. Here's the rest of the photo I opened this entry with, btw:

GEEKS WITH BOOKS! Robbie and Misty are hiding out of shot.

I think [livejournal.com profile] stephenquoll got a few more pics; I shall have to harass him for 'em next time I see him. ^___^

Everyone tramped back to our place. Halfway back, a very sheepish Inc pulled up in his car and said, "Oops... um... I kind of just woke up." We were amused. He gave a few people a lift back to our house and Robbie a lift to the shop to buy some munchies, and Bingo, Jaffa and I soldiered on and did the rest of the walk home on our own. GO US! ;)

At home, we dragged the double-futon mattress onto the living room floor, and everyone sprawled around the couch and mattress. I tossed on a "Best of John Williams film scores" double CD, we snacked out, read, and basically geeked out bigtime. What an awesome day. Vix and I had finished the book by four pm, and people trickled off over the afternoon. Rob's gone to visit Harry (no, not THAT Harry), so all's quiet here tonight. Now that I've recovered from my earlier sugar-crash (ugh), it's kind of nice.

...'cos tonight, I'm feeling good. :)

For those who wanted to see "before and after" pics:

I'm only halfway there, though; I've got at least that much to lose again to get to my target weight. But yeah, there ya go. Before an' after. ^_^;;

OK, this is gonna freak you out, but let me first state that this is something I did with Robbie sitting right here, for FUN, and not because I'm creepily planning our future children. We just found these two old photos on the hard drive - mine's actually a couple of years old - and I happened to notice that they were taken from roughly the same angle....

This is very bad Photoshopping.
